At All About Kids, we are all about making a difference by offering support and assistance to the younger generation.
Day to Day classes:
Grades R - 3:
For the foundation phase, we strive to have any homework given by the school completed upon arrival as this entails the necessary reading and writing in both languages and mathematics. The homework is checked and signed off once completed. Thereafter, kids are required to do 2 -3 pages of extra worksheets. These worksheets are based on the work the kids do at school and helps them to prepare for assessment tasks. When all homework and extra work has been completed, kids are allowed to engage in activities such as reading, word searches, drawing or board games. There is adult supervision at all times during their stay with us.

Grades 4 - 7:
For this phase, our team strives to assist the kids with their homework, assignments/projects as well as any struggle area's which may come along the way. Kids are expected to have a homework diary in which all homework is written down correctly and signed when homework is complete. If there is no homework on a particular day, they will be given practice work and time to study in order to prepare for tests and exams. We priorities assignments and tests. This meaning that if there is no time to complete homework, parents will be notified and homework will need to be completed at home (we will obviously do our best to get everything done but sometimes it is just not possible). The kids in this phase do not get time to engage in fun activities unless it is break time, all homework and extra work is completed and they have been tested after study time. From Grade 6 we start encouraging the kids to make summaries of their learning subjects in order to lighten the load for exam preparation.

Grades 8 - 12:
For the senior phase, we assist the learners' with homework and assignments when it is needed. We encourage the learners' to take full responsibility as it helps to teach them valuable lessons in life, e.g. time management. They are expected to ensure that; all homework is written down in the correct format (will be shown on the first day of class) and after the homework for each subject has been completed they are to raise their hand for a tutor to sign their homework book as well as check and sign their workbook, our staff need to be aware of all assignments and tests on the same day that they receive the news and all summaries need to be up to date at the end of every term. These learners' have access to dictionaries, a computer and the internet in order to assist them when needed. Our tutors are there to help the learners if there are any struggle areas but overall we encourage them to first try the work on their own. In this phase the learners' are given a break but sometimes it is necessary to work through the break in order to complete work.

Home School Tutoring:
All About Kids will be offering tutor services for learners who wish to be home schooled. We will be making use of Impaq as our curriculum provider. Please visit the Impaq website for more information regarding their products and registration. Alternatively, you can contact us and we will guide you through it and answer any questions you may have about home-schooling.

Mathematics Classes:
We offer mathematics classes to all grades. These are individual one-on-one classes where learners will need to recognize their struggle areas and correct them with the assistance of a tutor. These classes only run on specific days and may change throughout the year. For more information on our Mathematics classes please contact us.

Transportation:
We do offer transport services which is worked into the monthly cost. We fetch kids from school as well as drop them at home. The transport is only within our area, Mosel - Uitenhage. We do transport to the terminus in Uitenhage where our learners take a taxi home.
We do not offer transport to individuals who do not attend our classes. Our transport service is strictly for kids attending All About Kids.

Reading Program:
As from April, 2018 we will be offering reading classes in both English and Afrikaans. This is guaranteed to help improve the learners overall results. Often the struggle to read causes learners to fail assessments and leads to feeling frustrated with school work and what is expected of them.
During these classes the kids will be taught the basics of reading and breaking words down in order to understand how to pronounce them as well as understand their meaning.
